Almost indistinguishable from the grinning face, this emoji – as the name suggests! – differs in that where the grinning face has circular eyes, the grinning face with smiling eyes has … smiling eyes! All versions show an open mouth with both top and bottom rows of teeth. It is an older variant of the grinning face emoji, first gracing our small screens in 2010. The main reason for the development of alternative was due to this emoji appearing different of different platforms and devices, looking like a smiling face on some, and a grimacing one in others. It has become slightly more uniform, but still might change, depending on device.
