The graduation hat emoji is a very popular emoji, though its versatility is somewhat narrow. It depicts a black academic mortar board hat with a golden – or sometimes black – tassel draped over the side of the hat. On some platforms, the hat appears more blue or navy than black. The emoji is used in any conversation or congratulatory message about graduations, the end of school or college or other academic milestones or achievements. It can be used at any academic level, from kindergarten through to high school, college and beyond! It can also be used more generally to just refer to anything to do with school or college.
