The man construction worker emoji was introduced in 2016, but is entirely indistinguishable from the original construction worker emoji. He wears a yellow hard hat (safety helmet) on almost all platforms, though it is white with a green cross on Samsung devices and software. On many platforms, his clothes are also visible, and he wears a high visibility jacked over his shirt. The emoji is used to specifically reference builders and all those who work in the construction industry, but it can also be used much more broadly, for instance, to reference work being done on a house, or doing odd jobs around one’s own home.
