One of two emojis used for firefighting personnel, the man firefighter emoji is unmistakably dressed in full firefighter uniform. He wears a red helmet, usually with some sort of badge or insignia on its front, and wears either red or yellow protective clothing. On both Facebook and Apple’s iOS, the firefighter emoji also carries an axe. It can be used in combination with a number of other emojis, such as the fire emoji and the fire truck emoji. Its primary purpose is to represent the profession, but depending on the context, it can more generally mean that there is an emergency, a fire, or that help is on its way.
