The sleepy face emoji is instantly recognizable due to the series of Zzzs – representing sleep – emanating from the emojis head. The eyes of the emoji are closed and the mouth is usually in an O-shape. Samsung goes one step further and even has a drop of drool coming from its sleeping emojis mouth!! This emoji’s meaning is fairly self-explanatory: it’s used to represent sleepiness, exhaustion, or being dead bored. Usually it accompanies fairly innocuous statements like “going to bed 😪” or “I’m so sleepy 😪”, but when it is used as a reply to a long message or statement, it means that the sender found it boring or was entirely uninterested in the content: so bored, they were sent to sleep!
