On many emoji platforms, the tear-off calendar emoji is nearly identical to the classic calendar emoji, but there are a number of differences evident to the keen eyed emoji connoisseur! Most significantly, in all versions of this emoji the calendar shows a single day and date on a square, ring-binder calendar, rather than showing an entire month view. Different versions show different dates, but the most common date chosen is that of International Emoji Day, July 17. It is used in exactly the same way as any of the other calendar emojis: in conversation when dates and plans are being discussed and organized.
