The white flower emoji has a very specific meaning which is not that widely understood outside of Japan. It is the red or pink outline of the famous cherry blossom flower and often has Japanese writing contained inside it. The phrases are usually translated as “well done!” or “good job!” and is the emoji manifestation of a commonly used teacher’s stamp in Japanese schools, much in the same way gold stars or stickers are used in other classrooms around the world.
