In spite of its official name, the face savoring delicious food emoji is very rarely used to convey that! It’s more likely to be used to show goofiness or silliness, or to show the sender is not being serious about something. In this sense, it can and is used interchangeably with the ‘face with stuck out tongue’ emoji. The emoji usually has characteristic smiling eyes and a closed mouth with a tongue sticking out to the side, presumably meant to show the licking up of yummy food or the licking of lips! The off-center tongue is the main distinguishing characteristic between this and the other stuck out tongue emojis.
