The glasses or eyeglasses emoji depicts a pair of thick framed glasses with clear lenses. The frames are usually a dark color such as black, grey or navy, depending on the emoji platform used. Google software is the only platform which deviates from this and shows a pair of glasses with a rusty brown colored frame. Almost all versions show the arms of the glasses, though on Apple iOS, only the front of the glasses are visible. It has a variety of meanings depending on the context it’s used in. For example, it can mean “I’m looking at it” or “I’m reading it now”. It is also associated with nerd culture or studying.
