There are a number of emojis whose meaning really doesn’t seem all that well conveyed by their appearance, and the hushed face emoji is definitely one of them! It has round circular eyes and a circular, surprised mouth. This surprised appearance is further enhanced by raised eyebrows, and definitely, this emoji is most frequently used for surprise, alarm, mild hurt or shock. It’s similar to astonished emoji, though that particular variant has X-s for eyes rather than circles. Usually it is used when the sender is completely speechless at some news or gossip, or is having a bit of an OMG moment. Where does the hushed-ness comes in? We’re not too sure!!
