The OK hand emoji depicts a disembodied raised hand with the thumb and index finger touching to form a full, enclosed circle or “OK” hand gesture. It means agreement, assent, satisfaction, or quite simply: the word “OK”. It can be used to say that a plan, a situation or a person are OK, or it can be used as a question to ask after someone or something. It is worth noting that the OK hand signal has been accused of being a racist, Alt-Right gesture by both social and conventional media, though the Anti-Defamation League has come out as recently as July 2017 to assure people that using this gesture – either in real life or as an emoji – is not a gesture of hate or bigotry.
