This orthodox cross is often mistaken for another symbol and people tend to misuse it in various ways. The true meaning of this one is known by everyone that happens to be an orthodox christen and it is also used to represent the suffering of Christ, the founder of Christianity. The fact that this emoji is also often used by a Tumblr community to represent the devil is one of things that we hope will stop eventually, once people realize what it is all about. Although, most of the orthodox prefer the simple cross emoji, this one is also used.
