The running shoe emoji is one of the few emojis which are neither assigned a distinct gender nor which are particularly restricted by one. The emoji is primarily known under the moniker “running shoe” but on different platforms it can appear quite different than when viewed on other devices. It can appear as either wholly practical – e.g. for running and working out – or simply fashionable. Likewise, the color can shape quite drastically depending on your primary emoji platform, with grey, blue, red and green all featuring. It’s used to depict involvement in sport and physical activities, or alternatively as a simple fashion symbol.
