Scorpions are potentially deadly arachnids with strong, powerful pincers and a venomous tail. The emoji version of this creature is often portrayed quite realistically, with its individual body parts and legs visible. The scorpion emoji is shown with its tail raised high, as though ready for attack, and it ranges in color from golden brown to grey, depending on the emoji platform used. The emoji is used to describe a situation or person as dangerous, toxic or venomous and something which should be avoided at all costs. It can also have a more positive meaning, however, thanks to its close association with the zodiac star sign, Scorpio.
