The old key emoji is similar in meaning and use as the key emoji, but is depicted as far more ornate and pretty. Depending on the platform used, the key is gold, silver or black, and has a highly elaborate handle. It can be used to describe both figurative and literal keys, as well as situations and topics with should be secret or secure. Given how ornate and old-fashioned it looks, you would be less likely to opt for this emoji when describing house or car keys, instead choosing the original key emoji. Combined with a love heart emoji, it would mean “I have the key to your heart”.
