Recently, social media savvy and politically or socially active users – particularly on twitter – have adopted the clapping hands to emphasize a statement which should already be obvious, but isn’t. So as a general rule of thumb: if the claps come at the end, you’re being congratulated! But if they’re periodically placed within a statement, then: you didn’t get the point!!
