The collision emoji is also known as the boom emoji, and depicts a classic cartoon-ish bang image. It appears as an angular, non-symmetrical star or explosion, and can represent any loud noise, big crash, blast or bang. Its main body is usually yellow with red and orange outlines to symbolize fire or heat. It is often used in combination with other emojis to give the impression of a collision or accident, such as with a car emoji to represent an automobile accident. It can also be used to symbolize excitement within the context of the phrase such and such is “the bomb”.
