Cute, friendly and loveable, the original dog face emoji remains super popular among emoji aficionados. It depicts only the dog’s head and not its body. Its breed is not determined and can appear different depending on the emoji platform used. For instance, on Apple iOS, the dog is white with droopy brown ears and a brown patch on its left eye. Other versions are less generic, with EmojiOne having seemingly opted for a pug and Microsoft with a basset hound. The emoji is almost always used to symbolize cuteness and love, as well as – of course – to represent man’s best friend: the dog.
