The envelope emoji is one of a number of envelope emojis available and also one of the most versatile. It depicts the back of a single white – occasionally yellow – envelope such as is used for a letter or card and with little or no embellishment. Samsung is the exception to this rule and shows an elaborate red wax seal embellished with the letter M holding down the flap of the envelope so as to show it hasn’t yet been open. It is used to describe any message, regardless of whether it is physical or electronic, or to highlight that someone has mail.
