The chipmunk emoji is often confused with that of a squirrel, though its shorter tail and snout are a giveaway! Aside from the Emojidex version, the chipmunk emoji is invariable shown on a side profile, with its entire body on view. It is brown with distinctive striped markings on its body and face, and has a tufty tail roughly the same size as its body. In many versions, it is holding a seed or nut. It is used to represent woodlands and woodland animals generally. It is also used for conversations about Fall – or Autumn – and the changing of the seasons.
