The chicken emoji can appear very similar to the rooster one, though on most platforms the distinction is made by only showing the chicken’s head rather than its whole body, as is the case with the rooster emoji. On almost all platforms, it’s depicted as an all-white chicken with a red comb and wattle, with only Facebook being different and using a brown chicken instead. The Samsung emoji is the most cartoon-y of the lot and gives its chicken rosy cheeks and feminine lashes to identify its gender. It has a number of uses, including to disparage someone for being cowardly or “chicken”, to tell someone they are talking too much, or simply to represent a chicken!!
