On most platforms, the duck emoji is depicted as a distinctive and realistic mallard duck with a green head, brown, white and blue body, and with orange legs and webbed feet. Emojidex, however, opts for just the white head of a duck, while Samsung goes for a yellow rubber duck. Ducks are often associated with parks and afternoon strolls to feed them from benches. They are also hunted and eaten in many parts of the world. The emoji can also have a more figurative meaning, such as to suggest someone is “sitting ducks” or to playfully tease someone over their “duck face” selfie pose.
