The wrench emoji pictures a standard workshop wrench, almost always colored a metallic silver or grey. Frequently it is shaded and highlighted to give a three-dimension impression. The wrench emoji is a fairly versatile emoji, and can be used when referring to something which is faulty or broken and requires to be fixed, or to suggest that someone is doing odd jobs or repairs about the house. It’s also used when referring to engineers, mechanics and handymen, and can just mean “work” extremely generally. More obscurely, the wrench is a murder weapon in the famous board game Clue – or Cluedo –and can be used to reference that too!
