The hatching chick emoji is one of a number of chick emojis available, and is quite widely used. It shows a cute, yellow, baby chick emerging from half a white egg shell, with Facebook and Facebook Messenger both including a tiny egg shell “hat” on their little chick emoji’s heads too. It is a symbol of springtime, rebirth, and Easter time, and the emoji can be used to represent all these things. Given its close association with new life and birth, it is often used in combination with other emojis to announce a pregnancy or a recent birth of a baby.
