The frog face emoji depicts the head of a grinning green frog with large eyes. Until recently, it was largely just used in the context of the animal or for wildlife in general, but it has now taken on a number of other meanings and should be used with extreme caution. It is now extremely closely associated with the so-called “alt-right” movement and is used as a badge of honor for self-confessed trolls and agitators. It is frequently found incorporated into twitter handles. Alternatively, when combined with a hot beverage emoji, it emulates the popular “but that’s none of my business” meme which features Kermit the frog.
